While wolves are back on the Endangered Species List, they won't remain there for long. The purpose of the Endangered Species Act has always been to get an animal's population recovered and then turn the animal over to states for management.

One of the biggest obstacles to ensuring Wyoming manages wolves in a way that sustains them for the long term is the fact that Wyoming classifies the wolf as a predatory animal in almost 90 percent of the state.
